XRC Basic Programming

This course is an introduction to programming the XRC controller. No prior knowledge of robot programming or the XRC controller is required.
Primary topics include:
- Robot Safety
- System power up/down
- Coordinate systems
- Arithmetic and I/O instructions
- Path editing
- Position levels
- Speed Correction
- Job functions
- Tool Contorl Point (TCP)
Classroom lectures on programming commands are reinforced with demonstrations. Commands and topics are related to real-world examples and applications. Material covered in the lectures are enhanced with actual hands-on programming by students in Motoman's 13,400-sq.ft. training facility. Students work in teams to perform workshop exercises. Class size is kept small, typically 6 or fewer, to promote an interactive, hands-on atmosphere. Students work with each other and with the help of Motoman instructors to grasp the concepts of robot programming.
Students receive a copy of the XRC Basic Training Manual, which details commands and programming techniques for the Motoman XRC controller. Additional handouts relate to specific topics covered in the class. Students are urged to take notes, participate in discussions, and to bring up specific programming issues.
Training class schedules are subject to be changed without notice, based on training demands. All Training classes are held in the Miamisburg, OH Training Facility unless other prior arrangements have been confirmed.
